Blinky Bill and Bien Join Global Artists Collaborating with NATURE Ahead of COP30 in Brazil

Kenyan stars join the global Sounds Right movement using music to power conservation across Africa.

NATURE is now open for collaboration. The global initiative Sounds Right has launched a first-of-its-kind platform that allows any artist to officially feature NATURE as a recording artist on their music, sharing royalties to fund conservation projects worldwide.

After debuting NATURE as an official artist last year with collaborators such as Hozier, Ellie Goulding, Bomba Estéreo, and David Bowie x Brian Eno, Sounds Right is now expanding globally through FEAT. NATURE, accessible at soundsright.earth/feature.

Through this new platform, artists can incorporate natural sounds—like forests, oceans, rivers, and wildlife—into their music and release it on major streaming platforms. Royalties are split equally between the artist and NATURE, with NATURE’s share directed to the Sounds Right Fund, supporting community-led conservation projects across the world.

So far, over 26 million listeners in 181 countries have streamed songs featuring NATURE, generating $400,000 for Indigenous and community-driven conservation projects in the Amazon and Congo Basin. This builds on $225,000 that supported conservation efforts in the Tropical Andes in 2024.

Ahead of COP30 in Brazil, Kenyan artists Blinky Bill and Bien have joined the movement, releasing new music inspired by the sounds of the Congo Basin alongside international artists.

Blinky Bill’s track Kata Matin (feat. NATURE) reimagines a traditional Luo gospel song passed down through generations.

“Kata Matin is an old Luo Gospel song that’s been passed down generations. What drew me to it is how uplifting the mood is and how beautiful the melody sounds when sung, especially in the village. I wanted to give it a contemporary feel that places it in the here and now, and I had so much fun working on it,” said Blinky Bill.

Other African artists joining the initiative include Juls and Olivetheboy from Ghana, Lady Donli from Nigeria, and Phila Dlozi from South Africa.

The Sounds Right initiative, led by the Museum for the United Nations – UN Live, brings together global artists, sound recordists, producers, creatives, and environmental groups to strengthen the connection between culture and conservation. Key partners include EarthPercent, AKQA, Spotify, Eleutheria Group, and the Hempel Foundation.

Gabriel Smales, Global Programme Director at Sounds Right – UN Live, said:

“This launch gives artists a simple and impactful way to credit NATURE in their music while directing royalties to frontline conservation. As nature fades from our culture, we lose our sense of belonging to it. With this launch, we’re helping restore that connection while protecting the ecosystems we depend on.”

Hans Poulsen, Program Partner at Eleutheria Group, added:

“We’re extending the Sounds Right model into a scalable mechanism for independent artists worldwide. It’s a transparent framework that aligns creative freedom with environmental impact, bridging culture and conservation.”

FEAT. NATURE is now live at soundsright.earth/feature.
